Goverment Guidelines

Covid-19 Legal requirements as of September 14th 2020

Following recent changes to government legislation there are a few things you should be aware of before reserving your table at the Merchants 1688.

No one should come to the pub if they are exhibiting any of the symptoms of Covid-19 or if they have been told to self-isolate.

Tables inside and outside the pub are for a maximum of 6 people.

Individuals are not allowed to mingle with other groups or change seats between groups.

Table may not be moved or rearranged as they are placed so as to comply with social distancing requirements.

Please wait at the door to be taken to your table where either a server will take your order or you can order via your phone.

One member of your group is legally required to leave their name and phone number, which will be held confidentially and only provided to the Government Track and Trace team if required. They will be destroyed after 21 days.

There will be no standing in the pub and you will be asked to stay at your table (other than for visits to the loos) during your stay.

Reservations will be for 2.5 hours, but if there are no bookings immediately afterwards, you are welcome to stay.

These are legal requirements and we appreciate your understanding and support in following them. If any individual or group is not willing or able to follow the rules, then unfortunately we are unable to serve them.

If you are happy with all these points please go ahead and reserve your table.
